CFGIS Mission
The CFGIS Workshop, Inc. will facilitate and promote cooperation, communication, education and data sharing and will improve the status and level of effectiveness of Geographic Information System use in Central Florida.

CFGIS Vision
Through the conduct of an annual Workshop and presenting other training opportunities to GIS professionals, governmental decision makers and other potential beneficiaries, the organization will encourage and facilitate the advancement of regional GIS education and provide a forum for cooperation and the exchange of ideas, resources, technology, and data.

Values

• Provide a professional forum through the regional annual workshop
• Conduct meetings, seminars, conferences and the like for discussion and communication of mapping issues, knowledge, activities, and ideas
• Establish and maintain a CFGIS Workshop web site
• Inform the participants about recognized benefits and costs of various GIS applications, projects, and programs
• Support and communicate technically sound standards, practices, and procedures for sharing geographic information among governmental agencies and private sector
• Inform participants about: the status of federal and state mapping programs; the availability and effectiveness of data, software, and hardware; and the status of local and regional projects and GIS issues
• Identify new and existing public and private revenue sources available for GIS implementation. improvements and expansion
• Identify concerns and issues related to GIS initiatives
• Assist in the promotion of education, research, and outreach to promote the modernization of GIS technical skills, software and hardware
